This Kettle Boileth Over by Jessica Ni Leacai

My emotions, a harness, only they,
tie me down, not you,
You would not wear them,
for fear of honesty observed

You hide behind your guise, a cloak,
society holds you to, not me,
I am not a sound rebutal,
for your lack of expressions.

I would temper your words, in fires,
too hot for furnaces, not truth,
I am not your kettle to boil,
for your lies burn me of want.
