Arms Not Lifted in Defiance by Jessica Ni Leacai

Calm soul, Calm lips,
Speak no fury of fervency.

Leap not heart, Leap not legs,
A jump serves no subordination.

Close ears, Close eyes,
Surroundings sore you silent.

Refrain body, Refrain feet,
Forward motion makes haste.

Hold firm hands, Hold firm head,
Intolerance leads lonely lives.
