A Worm Ate Inside Me by Jessica Ni Leacai

I wished myself the stem,
a flower blooming
How you stunned my growth,
with sharp shears

The roots of me withered,
you poisoned them
Life bled from my leaves,
veins viciously cut

Your weeds arrogate my being,
parasites implanting bile
And this stalk dangles crushed,
empty and dead
