Price A Paid Pain by Jessica Ni Leacai

Price A Paid Pain by Jessica Ni Leacai

Penance paid,I stay, skin stripped
of me, melanin melted, a solar heat, has
no presence here, cold clinging to my bones

Thirst taken, I recall, reused repeats
of  past, pretences perculiar, as if memory, made
a liar of life lived,  dark days of selected solitude

Efforts evaded, I wait, wearily wanton
of all, agitations augmenting, pulling ribbons, broken
mirrored metals minced, starkly stuck in my  soul
