Was it the Light by Jessica Ni Leacai

Why does morning molest my mortal soul, sending
slumber, such simplicity regarded as remedial,
yet eyes I can not close, cells powered on,
off button broken, brain’s batteries undrained

Owls ornate, in hours hosted by night’s nocturn, service
in solitarian shadows, cloaked sparrows soar to split skies into
daylight, darkness too dim for their trivial tarred bodies, beaks beckoning the sun to shimmer it’s radiant rays ripping, empyrean ebony into

Dark days eluded efforts, cumulous clouds calling bluff,
to circulating birds begging better climate, inhabitants
in mood of migration, manic creatures craving solar sanity,
while I stationary, sat, wolf like waiting for the day
