Left amongst scattered leaves

I waited for you, years, months, days
you evaded me, your voice, your touch
but my eyes, they would still see you
your figure boldly imprinted on my eyelids

How I wept tears of longing, persistent
in such constant grieving, i yearned
but you left me waiting, amongst lovers
And me here to wander streets of loneliness like scattered leaves falling

Now I sit here, alone with these hands and none to hold
no child to cradle, no warmth of your breath
you have left me here to die, sorrowfully
and I would have been your everything, your delight!
